In mid-February 2024 I drove down to northern New Mexico to paint at Ghost Ranch and the hills around Abiquiu. On route I pulled off the back roads and painted this scene en plein air. It’s at the entrance to Burro Springs hunting area near La Garita. Beautiful colors. Beautiful country.
