I expanded on the earlier small sketch to include some light striking the trees above the immediate scene. This was tricky light: the sky was cloudy in parts which sometimes diffused the light and sometimes illuminated portions of the landscape. The snow picked up color from reflected light. The rocks not covered by snow created unique patterns against white powder.
